Child Care Choices Welcomes New Enrollees in the Food Program, the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program, in Four Counties

 

Crawford, Marion, Morrow, & Richland Counties, Ohio- Family child care providers, individuals who care for young children in their home, are eligible to receive funds for the meals and snacks they serve children in their care. They simply have to call Child Care Choice’s toll free number (800)-92CHILD or (419)-468-7581, and ask about joining the Food Program, the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) under the sponsorship of Action for Children. In addition to meal reimbursement per child, Child Care Choice’s services include working with providers to set up menus, offering nutrition workshops and providing quarterly staff visits to give educational assistance and resources.

 

Child Care Choices is North-Central Ohio’s source for child care and early learning services, and has been a CACFP sponsor for than 10 years. Providers enrolled in the program serve children nutritious meals---everything from infant formulas to breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks for toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children in after-school care.

 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture funds the Child and Adult Care Food Program under Action for Children’s local sponsorship. Meals are served at no separate charge to all eligible participants enrolled for care, and will be provided without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability.
