The Morrow County Chamber is gearing up for the 3rd Annual Sweet Corn Festival to be held in downtown Mt. Gilead, Friday, July 17, 6-10 PM and Saturday, July 18, 11 AM to 8 PM.
Friday Night, Mt. Gilead CIC will sponsor the Hog Roast and the Chamber will have Sweet Corn on hand. Roger Cooper will be the DJ for the evening on the Time Warner Stage.
This years Queen, Princess, and Jr. Princess Contest will be held on Friday night 7-9 pm. Lori Riggs is the Chair of the contest and will have judges on hand. Contestants will need to arrive at the Time Warner Stage at 6 PM.
Jr. Princess – 4-6 Years old, perform a talent and model in church/party attire
Princess 7-12 Years Old, Perform a talent and model in formal wear.
Queen 13-18 Years Old, perform a talent, model in formal wear, and be given a question to be answered on stage.
Applications can be picked up at the Chamber Office or First Knox Banks and returned to Lori Riggs, 231 W. High St., Mt. Gilead, OH 43338.

The Mt. Gilead Merchants Association will have a Shop Hop Friday evening.
Saturday brings Sidewalk Sales, Crafters, Entertainment, Corn Hole Tournament, Corn Eating Contest, Corn Cook Off, Children’s Games, and Chicken BBQ. The Historical Society House will be open on Saturday as well.
The Morrow County Idol Contest
will be from 3-5 PM as well. Brad Williams from Faces Made for Radio is in
charge of the Idol Contest this year. Contestants 15 and under is in one
division and 16 + is the 2nd division. This year, contestants are to
bring their own CD background with vocals removed, provide their own
accompaniment, or perform acapella. You must be a Morrow County Resident.
NO MP3 Players may be used during the performance. Winners in each
division will receive a 3 Song Recording Package from Saron Acoustic Recording.
The evening will end with music by Faces Made for Radio. Each division is limited to 10 performers, so get your registration forms in early. Forms can be picked up at the Chamber Office at 17 ˝ W. High St., Mt. Gilead.
